Company History and Facts on Mancini Beverage
The story about Mancini Beverage started in 1959 when Antonio Mancini purchased the Providence Beverage Company, one of Rhode Island’s beer distributors. The company went into the hands of Raymond Mancini, Sr., Antonio Mancini’s oldest son, who also acquired Rhode Island Distributing.
The Mancini Beverage Company got the distribution rights for the Coors Brewing products in Rhode Island, which solidified the company’s standing in the local community. They have improved their shipping and logistics platform, enabling the company to make efficient deliveries to the market.
Mancini Beverage added non-alcoholic beverages to its portfolio, adding Snapple and Polar brand products. The company added Ken Mancini as company president, marking the third generation of Mancini’s running the company.
In 2001, Mancini Beverage started its Connecticut operations by distributing Red Bull. In 2002, they began cooperating with Diageo, increasing their spirits portfolio to include Jameson, Tanqueray, and Captain Morgan. A little later, they also launched a premium beer portfolio, including the world-famous Stella Artois brand.
Mancini Beverage bought Connecticut Beverage in 2006, adding Heineken and Snapple to its portfolio in this state. Their Rhode Island distributor center partnered with Martignetti Companies, solidifying its position in the Rhode Island wine and spirits market; they expanded their fine wine portfolio in 2008.
Centrex, their distributing and logistics partner, expanded to a 10-bay 100,000 square feet facility to accommodate Mancini Beverage’s growing portfolio and market demands. Continuing the family tradition, the fourth generation of Mancinis entered the family business in 2015.
In 2020, Mancini Beverage acquired Levine Distributing, further expanding its presence in Connecticut; Levine Distributing is also the wholesaler of Anheuser-Busch products, as well as Heineken and Yuengling.
Today, Mancini Distributing is active in both Rhode Island and Connecticut, and they have an extensive, diverse portfolio that includes over 4000 brands. They serve over 8500 customers in both states; they are a wholesale distributor working only with licensed retailers, restaurants, bars, taverns, and liquor stores.
The company has a strong involvement in the local communities they serve; its employees donate their time and resources to local organizations and events dedicated to helping improve the lives of the people and environment. Mancini Distributing is involved in community organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Connecticut Food Bank, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Sophia Academy, and the Ronald McDonald House Providence.
