History of Donnewald Distributing

The Donnewald Distributing Company started operations earlier, but they entered the alcohol beverage industry in April 1965, when the company obtained a wholesale license for Anheuser-Busch products. The company and tradition started by Bud Donnewald have continued, and it continues to provide high-quality products to its customers.

Bud Donnewald based the company on hard work and courteous and ethical conduct in all relations, and the same tradition lives on with the second-generation Donnewalds running things now. Donnewald Distributing Company has been in business for close to 60 years, and they’ve provided excellent service and products to the communities they serve.

Today, Donnewald Distributing Company operates out of a single, climate-controlled facility in Greenville, Illinois, serving 12 counties with alcoholic beverages: Calhoun, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Bond, Clinton, Washington, Fayette, Marion, Effingham, Greene, Cumberland; five more with non-alcoholic beverages: Jefferson, Crawford, Jasper, Coles, and Shelby.

The Donnewald Distributing Company offers domestic beer, craft beer and cider, imported beers, wines and spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks. They are the leading distributor of Anheuser-Busch products in the counties they serve, including Bud Light, Budweiser, Beck’s, Michelob, and more.

On top of their impressive portfolio, they also have a signage department. Donnewald Distributing emphasizes sustainability and environmentalism, implementing solar panels to produce electricity, and regularly partake in charity programs like the emergency drinking water program.
