President Trump said on Thursday that the federal government is working on a bill that will provide assistance for small businesses, as well as the airline, cruise ship, and hotel industries. This stimulus package would act in addition to the bill enacted Wednesday ensuring free coronavirus testing and paid emergency leave for those affected by the virus.
Congress is still negotiating the proposed stimulus, but bold measures including direct payments to Americans have found bipartisan support. In addition, the FDA is providing regulatory flexibility in order to fast-track approval for potential coronavirus treatments.
