Summer drinking occasions are at risk due to “safer-at-home” orders preventing gatherings at beaches, parks and pools. Consumer insights firm Social Standards identifies the most vulnerable categories and those most resistant categories. Consumers are compensating for canceled events by tuning into virtual happy hours. Conversations surrounding virtual happy hours increased 1,505% in March, with wine and whiskey being the most popular beverages mentioned.
