This element unique to scotch has now made its way to American whiskey, gin, rum, and surprisingly vodka. Peat-smoked spirits enhance the sophistication and complexity of the drink. Other areas of Eastern Europe and America’s Pacific Northwest are anticipated to experiment with peat-smoked characteristics to enhance the flavors, aromas, and sophistication of the product.
