Online alcohol delivery sales grew by over 32 percent last year, an average growth rate of 3 percent month-over-month according to the new survey conducted by Slice Intelligence. December, the largest month for alcohol beverage delivery, represented over 12 percent of total sales, according to the report.

New players in the space are driving the expansive growth rate in the alcohol beverage delivery industry, with E-commerce growth up overall last year by 23 percent. Amazon, which began testing alcohol delivery in Seattle in 2015, has expanded to more cities this year via its Amazon Prime Now program, which now is operated through its new Whole Foods operations.
