The state of Washington reviews its liquor laws yearly for revisions to handle the growing demand in the industry, changing consumer tastes and the movement away from state control on a few key aspects of the sale and distribution of alcohol.

Some of the key changes included in this year’s revisions include: customers sampling liquor at state craft distilleries can have half their shot with water or soda, charities can now auction wine to raise money, craft distilleries can get a license to store their liquor in a warehouse, wineries can have twice as many tasting rooms where they can sell growlers and kegs of their products as well as samples, and last but not lease mead is now officially defined in state law.
