Technology is influencing our lives more and more every day. Spirits giant Diageo got creative this past year in Singapore by using virtual reality to increase sales. The brand, Singleton Whiskey, hosted an exhibit at the Marina Bay Sands Epicurean Market that included a two minute virtual reality “tour” of the distillery and a promo “into the cask” experience showcasing the flavors of the brand. Over 85 percent of visitors tried the VR tour and one in five decided to purchase product afterwards. An amazing conversion rate and perhaps a signal of new technological innovations to come for other alcoholic beverage brands.
