Kevin Burke worked in the beer business in the 1960s, and he wanted to get back in that business, so he decided to utilize his experience in the best way possible. River City Distributing was founded in 1987 when Kevin Burke bought a local Miller distributor, Dixie Beer.

He established the company, infusing his expertise and commitment to excellent customer service. He was an excellent manager and developed the business, spreading his services all over Louisville; the company outgrew the original distribution center, so they moved to a new facility in southwest Louisville.

The new facility was state-of-the-art, with over 150,000 square feet of temperature-controlled warehouse. River City Distributing bought Mo Moorman Distributor in 2007, increasing the volume by 50%. Later, in 2009, River City was again forced to expand its warehouse as it increased its market share.

In 2011, River City Distributing launched its Wine & Spirits division, expanding its product portfolio brought on by the changing market trends and needs. It allowed them to serve even more customers and satisfy the local community’s tastes.

Today, River City Distributing employs a vast and varied employee base; all employees are passionate about the business and combine their strengths to deliver the highest possible level of service.
