Paradise Beverages History & Company Info

Paradise Beverages, Inc began its story as the Crockett Sales Company, incorporated in 1948. It was purchased by Ed Doty in 1968, who renamed it Doty Distributors, Inc, and the company started selling alcoholic beverages. The company operated until 1976, when it was purchased by Schenley Industries and was renamed Paradise Beverages, Inc.

Topa Equities, Ltd bought Paradise Beverages in 1980 and Cen-Cal Beverages, another Hawaii distributor. The new owners now had the distributing rights to Coors and Stroh product lines. They bought McKesson Wines & Spirits, expanding the Paradise Beverages product catalog to include wines and spirits.

In 1995, Paradise Beverages bought the Island Beverages Company and the rights to the Miller Brewing Company products. A year later, Paradise Beverages bought the distributing rights for Heineken and Samuel Adams from Eagle Distributors.

In 2012, Paradise Beverages bought a locally owned and operated distributor, JMD Beverages; JMD Beverages became the premier wine division of Paradise Beverages, operating as an entity within the company.

Paradise Beverages has a mission to seek and develop character and integrity in its people, products, and services. They operate out of five locations, two on the main island and three on neighboring islands. The locations are Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hilo, and Kona.
