History of Nappi Beverage Distribution

In 1933, with the repeal of Prohibition, Giovanni John Nappi established an alcoholic beverage distributorship, as did many other entrepreneurs at the time. Giovanni’s sons Frank Sr., Nick, and Sam Nappi learned about the beverage business, and almost 30 years later, in 1960, they established Nappi Distributors.

They set out to become southern Maine’s leading beverage distributors, and their hard work and dedication paid off, and they expanded their warehouse in 1979, doubling their original volume of work. They expanded operations again in 2007, opening a 155,000 square feet state-of-the-art warehouse and maintenance facility in Gorham, Maine. They store all their beer and wine in a temperature-controlled environment. They have efficient loading and unloading operations, ensuring all their clients and distributors get the excellent customer service the company is known for.

They serve a wide area in Maine and distribute beer brands to Cumberland and York counties and parts of Oxford county; they are state-wide wine distributors. Today, Nappi Distributors operates with nearly 200 employees, and eleven Nappi family members help run the company.

Their product portfolio is varied and appealing to many clients, as they have a long list of domestic and imported wines and some of the most notable names in the beer industry. Some brands Nappi Distributors represent are Miller, Coors, Shipyard, Allagash, Robert Mondavi, Kendall Jackson, Sterling, Chat. St. Michelle, Castello Banfi, etc.

The company has a strong community responsibility, focusing on alcohol awareness, environmental issues, recycling, energy efficiency, and other concerns in the communities where their families and customers live and play.
