The story of M.S. Walker began in 1929 when Maurice S. Walker expanded his local pharmacy business to include flavorings, extracts, and syrups. The repeal of Prohibition in 1933 allowed the company to expand into the production and distribution of alcoholic beverages, and the company considers 1933 as its founding date.
They expanded their business in the 1960s to include fine wine distribution, and they put their focus on small estates and emerging regions, emphasizing value. They slowly introduced their brands of famous wines and expanded their product portfolio further.
They expanded throughout the years by acquiring several national brands and companies, establishing the M.S. Walker as a wine and spirits importer and distributor with regional and national operations. Today, M.S. Walker is an independent multi-generational family business that is among the top three largest distributors in the Northeast. Fifth-generation family members are now at the helm of the company. However, they’ve remained loyal to their founding principles of building and maintaining strong personal relationships with clients and suppliers from around the world.

M.S. Walker also offers bottling services, and they have 550,000 gallons of storage facilities, a 100% fully automated closed system, efficient bottling lines with 160 bottles per minute capacity, fully automated blending, batching, and palletizing, and a 30-person full-time staff. They also have certification to produce organic products and integrate solar roof panels for renewable energy sourcing.
