A certain Marvin Sands from Finger Lakes, New York founded a bulk wine sales company and named it Canandaigua Industries. He found initial success and gained great revenue, clearing $1 million in revenue in 1954. The company introduced Richard’s Wild Irish Rose wine brand that spearheaded the growth of the company.

The products offered have led to even more amazing growth and revenue that reached over $8 million by 1961. The success and demand of their products have led Marvin Sands to establish the Canandaigua Wine Company in 1972, and it went public in 1973. It was run by Marvin Sands, and later his son took the reins.
