According to Carlos Ochoa, Mezcal El Silencio’s COO, the key to building one of the leading mezcal brands in the U.S. was hiring people that were passionate about mezcal first, and then teaching them how to sell it. 

The result was a brand that could not be replicated.“Every single thing that you see around El Silencio is done by somebody inside the company,” Ochoa says. “We don’t outsource absolutely anything.”

Eight years later, when the time came to add a new product, El Silencio doubled down on what they’re good at to create Tequila Dahlia, a premium cristalino tequila.
