Constellation Brands has announced it plans to acquire Empathy Wines, a direct-to-consumer wine company co-founded by digital marketing expert and entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. The deal comes as some states are slowing down reopening plans again and e-commerce alcohol sales are expected to receive a boost. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Vaynerchuk will remain with Constellation as a consultant, while Empathy’s other co-founders, Jon Troutman and Nate Scherotter, will continue to run day-to-day operations.
