The American-owned Brown-Forman Corporation plans to launch its own distribution company in Spain. The transition will take full effect in July of 2017 and is ultimately intended to elevate the Jack Daniel’s portfolio in the market. Brown-Forman has already established its own distribution operations in numerous countries, including “Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and the U.K.” This has been a common strategy for Brown-Forman for years abroad and serves as a reminder of the differences of the three-tier system in the US.
