The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) recently proposed regulations involving any person who serves alcohol in any location, such as an event, bar, concert, restaurant, or hotel. All servers and businesses involved will be affected by the proposed regulation.
After July 2020, every person working as a server will be required to take part in a mandatory alcohol beverage training program and certification. Every person will need to be certified by the ABC, as well as receive a passing grade of 70% or higher to be hired as a waiter, waitress, or bartender.
