2020 was a challenging year for craft brands who disproportionately rely on tasting room sales to grow their businesses, compared to the international counterparts. But there are a few promising avenues for struggling craft brands, according to Becky Harris, the president of the American Craft Spirits Association. In an interview with Imbibe, Becky predicts to-go cocktails, hand sanitizer production, permanent passage of the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act, and the gradual increase in direct-to-consumer shipping for spirits will offer some relief in 2021.

“If we can figure out a way to get through this—to continue to hold the line—we should be set for great growth again once people can come back out,” says Becky.
