NPR launched a new product in order to help fund public radio – wine. NPR announced its new membership package, the NPR Wine Club, which rewards subscribers with quarterly deliveries of twelve premium wine. The inaugural varietals include an “All Grapes Considered” Malbec, a “Weekend Edition” Cabernet Sauvignon and an “Uncorked” Merlot.

Experts from Direct Wines, Wines That Rock and other licensed wineries and retailers will help NPR procure the selection of NPR-approved bottles. Bottle shipments will include background stories as well as tasting notes and pairing suggestions to better inform subscribers about the wine they’re drinking. Subscriptions to the NPR Wine Club start at $79.99 (plus $19.99 for shipping) for the first quarterly delivery of 12 wines, plus the bonus NPR labeled bottles.
