US wine exports, 90% of which come from California, reached a record high value of $1.62 billion in 2016, according to the California Wine Institute. Total volumes of wine exports from the US rose to 412.7 million liters or the equivalent of 45.9 million cases. The top importers of California wine include: The European Union, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan and China.
